Which types of raised garden beds would people here recommend?

Welcome to the site  :D

Is there a particular reason for wanting raised beds?  Is it to solve a drainage problem, to create paths, or another reason?

Most people either just heap soil into a slightly raised area, or use treated timber to create edges (which then need filling with some new soil etc).
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Sightwave, not sure exactly what you mean, all raised beds are the same aren't they? I'd recommend free white pallets and make them yourself. :)

I was dead set on raised beds but thinking otherwise now. If I go for a slightly different approach whereby I make paths to seperate out cropbeds using edging/pallets etc, do people in general stake these into the ground or just nestle them in so to speak?

Thanks

Too true Yorkie!

Much easier - and cheaper Sightwave, to consider this! You may have to face a bill of several more pounds per bed, and really not need them...

I'm not sure how well treated pallet wood is - may rot off after a couple of years.

There's no point in just nestling the wood into the ground as it won't be deep enough and will move.  It will need staking.

Thanks Yorkie, It's not treated well but I don't mind replacing them every few years. Looks like I'm gonna have to make some stakes tomorrow though lol.
