Hi All,
Since one of the hens went broody and hogged the nest box, the others have taken to laying under bushes in the garden. Fortunately the dog finds most of them, however I reckon 20 are under a huge log pile we have.  Any ideas on how to get them back to laying in the nest box?
Offending broody hen has now done time in our "solitary chiller" and seems cured!

Not sure what your set up is like but one of my ladies was trying to lay out in the garden behind my shed last week. To cure that I made the area she was trying to nest in very awkward/uncomfortable for her with bricks and logs; I also left the girls in their walk in run until after lunch by which time they have all finished laying; then i let them out to free range. I suppose if your hens lay throughout the day you may have a problem with that idea, my girls have all finished laying by lunchtime.

If it is possible to keep them locked in the coop until lunchtime, that will help.

Unfortunately once they start laying in odd places, I've found it quite difficult to retrain them to lay in the coop
