Does anyone know what this plant is?
« on: August 09, 2012, 20:33 »
One of the abandonned plots near mine is about to be cleared using some form of chemical. There is this unusual plant, I assume it is a blackberry but is not like any I have ever seen before. Does anyone recognise it? Is it worth saving/moving?

It looks like a blackberry plant my son gave me (along with a Goji berry plant)!  It's now down the allotment and I suppose the label has bleached or blown away.  I'm off down there manana for some spuds, I'll see if I can remember to check.

Cheers,    Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

That is the one -- thornless too, and well worth saving imho  :D

I can't identify it, but I would definately save it.
I would love to have that incorporated into my hedgerow.

"Oregon Thornless" is one cultivar of Rubus laciniatus - but I don't think this plant is that cultivar, there are definte thorns in the photos.
