Onions
« on: August 12, 2012, 20:21 »
Hi,

I lifted my onions today and I have a question regarding drying/storage.

Due to the weather being so flaky I decided to hang my onlions to dry on strings across the roof of my shed.  Will this be enough to dry the outter layers to store over the winter or do they need sun light?

I was going to keep the door of the shed open as it does get rather hot in there.

Also what is the best way to store the onions over winter, do i cut off the foliage or leave it and let them hang some where?

Any help is very much appriciated

Many thanks

Andy
