Hi

I have recently lost my 6 hens, so I am getting a re-stock however the house etc is still full of bedding etc? What do I need to do before the new arrivals to the house? And run? Disinfect everything? Any ideas?

Clean it all out and disinfect. Check for red mite and treat. Wash food/water bowls. Check fencing to see if any need repairing.

if a predator got them - fox, mink badger or buzzard etc. then before you get any more make sure that your coop and run is secure - dig down and out with the weld mesh, fully cover the roof etc. If it was through illness and a highly contagious one then consider moving the run.
Staffies are softer than you think.

For some diseases it is recommended to wait for a few weeks or even months before re-stocking unless you can move them well away from their previous home. :)
