i have some foxgloves in my garden are they bad for my chooks, what about poppys and other plants ???

Chickens seem to know what not to eat but there's always a stupid one in the crowd.

Foxgloves contain digitalis and are dangerous for anyone to eat. Chooks should not eat tomato or potato leaves as they're part of the nightshade family. There's a more complete list here.

That's very true, Tosca. Worse still is if they somehow get loose in a freshly planted veg garden. Knew a few people who'd had this happen. They thought the chickens would simply pick out bugs and slugs before they became a problem. Wow, some people are terribly naive   :D

Mine wiped out potatoes and tomatoes last year ... Put a tomato plant to close to run and out popped their heads like a flock of vultures and partially demolished plant before I could grab it ... Didn't realize it was poisonous

thanks for the help guys as you can see i am new to chicken stuff but lovin it. ps nerdle have now got a chicken swing bench that has been getting some hammer inbetween rain showers :D
