Revive Old Greenhouse
« on: July 17, 2012, 20:36 »
Hiya all

Ive been very fortunate to move into a house with a greenhouse.

Its not been looked after very well and I want to get it back up an running asap.

Ive ordered some clips to replace all the ones that look a bit old and worn out.

However the glass is rather dirty and could do with a good clean. Could anyone suggest what they would use to clean them up? I was going to use star drops but wondering if anything else would be better?

Thanks all

I normally use a drop of ordinary washing up liquid in warm water and use a soft brush to gently scrub the panes of glass. Then followed up with a wash down with a hose just to get rid of the suds. Saw Monty Don clean his GH in exactly the same way. Make sure you get into all of the cracks and crevices to get rid of as much dirt and bugs as possible.

best thing to clean glass - vinegar on old black print newspaper - works a treat.
