Let us not complain - we are not in business as is this farm.

Mutter- dreaming of lottery wins and threatening to dig up the garden and install a conservatory and hot-tub instead!

Well if you win at least you could grow water-cress.   ;)

We don't appear to have had quite as much rain as the rest of the country but the lack of sunshine  and low temperatures are hitting it hard.

All the greens for the autumn, leeks, broad beans and peas and spuds looking reasonable.

Carrots beetroot and spinach seeds all failed to germinate ( and I did 3 sowings) and I have about 20 parsnips out of 3 rows.  Squash, courgette corn and runners just seem to be sitting there, yellowing and looking very spindly and the onions just don't seem to be bulking up although shallots not doing too badly.

In the greenhouse I just need sunshine to ripen the toms.  They and the cucumbers are thriving but chillis and aubergines are seriously missing the sunshine.

It was never going to be the bestofyears with OH out of action until recently following an op but I will NOT give in.

Onwards and Upwards with lots of finger crossing for both us and the farmers.

Well I've been down about my plot this year what with the endless grey skies and crops sulking.  That was until today. After two previous years of growing carrots and ending up with twisted, fly devoured stumps, today I pulled up some fantastic, perfectly formed, fly free beauties.  Made getting soaked AGAIN worthwhile.

Keep going, the suns coming soon, honestly  :).
