have seen on ebay in america some lovely looking hatching eggs...does anyone on here have experience of buying eggs from abroad and are there any laws concerning having eggs sent into the country???

if it were me, i would not touch eggs sent from abroad....not by post.

not because of any rules or regs ( if there are any ) but because of the travelling.
i send eggs all over the uk, and on occasion have bought them and had them posted to me, but i will be honest the hatch rate is quite low....some eggs are scrambled in the shell, which ofcourse you would not know until first, poss second candling....then it is too late.
i have had sellers offer to replace 50% of the ones that did not hatch, but then you have the same thing over...the postal service......

better to buy from a reputable dealer and collect them. IMHO   :roll:

there are quite a few birdsales here in wales.....

Abergavveny once a month,
Brecon car boot where you can sell livestock aswell,
House of the trees in the Rhondda,
LLandeilo is once a month aswell,
Mandeilo is another one......

some are actual auctions, some are just sales.

Brecon has horses and ponies, birds, eggs, ferrets, well you get the idea...£5 entry free, and you can set up inside or outside whichever you prefer.

have you had a look in the practical poultry magazines breeders directory?

you can buy it from their website and theres lots of breeders in wales, im sure theres one near you.

I've got silkies,bearded silkies,welsummers,buff orpingtons,and welsummer bantams due out of incubator this weekend

and had 10 warrens out last weekend :lol:

not too sure at the mo of dates except there is one on sunday 18th of november at Brecon cattle market......dont know what will be there, could be cr*p, but last months was good for me, managed to sell loads of birds including g/fowl, 3 trios copper blacks, 17 quail, and 4 weatons.....plus some unwanted tack.
free to get in if you are buying.

as soon as i find out the dates of the others i will pm you.
