The full quote is....

"Normal sugar type. Very tender pericarp makes this an ideal variety for mini sweetcorn. Best grown at high density, and harvested when cobs approximately 10cm in length. Produces 5-6 cobs per plant. This variety normally crops after approximately 65 days, and does not require pollination to produce cobs.!!!!!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Well, that's a first. Do the cobs actually get true kernels on them?

If you look at this, you'll know as much as me, Trill. Never tried them, but I sorely tempted next year!

It does sound interesting, but it's a hybrid so I couldn't save seed from it. Odd that it needs no pollination. Perhaps self-pollinating? if so, I wonder what they crossed to get that? At least it's not a GM variety.

Oh, common, no baby sweet corn needs pollination, special hybrid or any other hybrid if it would get even near pollinating time, you harvested too late.

Sometimes, of suitable varieties the first cob is left to mature and rest is harvested as mini, so you can save seed that way. 8)
