Some of our raspberries leaves have got brown and completely dried out should we dig them up and replace them with some others we have at home or leave them and see what happens?

I'm currently having the exact same problem. My raspberries look like there dying, but most peoples on the lotty look fantastic.

Sound's like lack of water to me. Raspberries are shallow rooting so need watering little and often in this hot weather .

I've had the same problem with my best canes at home. Th others at home and at the allotment all look fine though so I don't really get it!

Since noticing the problem I have been watering it more carefully, and as you say little and often. I can see there is still some life in it but I'm not sure it will now produce as much fruit as it was going to do.  Some of th leaves look dead, would it be an idea to remove those so it can attempt to concentrate on the fruit?

Only remove them if there are still other leaves on the stem. The leaves are there to capture sunlight and air for the plant.

It's very possible that your soil at the lotty and at home are quite different with one holding any moisture better than the other.

As long as there's any sign of life in a raspberry, it will recover with enough water. When cropping, they're very thirsty things in reality, not the drought tolerant plants people believe them to be. If they're suffering now, don't plan on getting much of a harvest this year since the plants need their energy to recover.

Hi all i decided to dig up a couple of the raspberries and the roots are soaking where the ground has been waterlogged is it possible that they have had to much water. The ground has been wet now for about 2 months also noticed my gooseberry leaves are starting to go crispy. I also put about 2 inches of wood chippings over everthing in the fruit cage last year could this be the cause .
