I grew a red variety Falstaff for the first time last year (Nov-Jan) and we liked both the flavour and the performance. It's a shame they lose colour on cooking, retain a bit when briefly steamed.

Grew some this year as well, of course, but I'm surprised they are alive, after what they looked like having had the worst of rains mid-summer, so they are going to be rubbish, but that's not their fault.
