Pumpkin probs
« on: May 25, 2012, 22:26 »
Hi, me again!
I possibly planted out my squashes and pumpkins a little too early, initially I thought they were goin to die, but as it turns out they appear to becoming back! Yay!! Is there anything I can do to help them on their way! Some of the leaves are shrivelled and white, should I remove these? Once again thanks for your help! Cheers Gee Man

Yes, it does sound like they got cold. I'd keep those those leaves on .  Be prepared to protect them with fleece if frost is forecast!

You could try a liquid feed e.g. seaweed feed to perk them up a little if you want - just don't apply it in sunshine or just before the plant will be in the sun or you'll end up with sun scorch.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

If it's all you've got, and no other fertilisers, then perhaps.  But it isn't really designed for the stage of the plants' growth.

I've got that and BFB? Would that be ok? If so do I just sprinkle it around the stump and water! Thanks for your help on this matter,  it's all a learning curve for me! My pumpkins were doing so well in the house. Lol

You could always add a small amount in the watering can and mix it up a little then pour it on in a dilute solution.
Thanks
Kris
