Too Hot To Transplant?
« on: May 22, 2012, 16:45 »
Here in Sunny Sussex it's a very hot day indeed, with more to come so they say, the conditions got me thinking about seedlings which have been indoors and are in need of planting out. However I am unsure if the high temperatures and  intense sunlight will be too much for them., would it be better to wait until cloudier and cooler conditions? Or would they be fine if transplanted in the morning time and left to acclimatize? Would appreciate any advice on this.

A little less heat is preferable but, if you really have to, then transplant in the evening and water well, and rig up a bit of shade if you can.
