i've just posted a photo of daisy and dora on the 'sticky' here - page 14.

if you look carefully you can see that daisy has a different comb that dora -- dora's(the white one) looks normal but daisy's doesn't have a 'raggedy' edge.

is that just natural variation? it's been intrigueing me...this is probably another of my silly questions!

I think it's what's called a walnut comb

its simple genetics.

the same as how the human genome works with hair colour, eyes, etc,

or in horses, a 15hh mare and a 16hh stallion should produce a 15.2 foal.

oooh so it wasn't a silly question after all! it does look like she has the walnut one.

that's really interesting (took me back to my days in cardiff uni )
 i'd been half wondering if it was because of some disease/difficiency or other (paranoid thing that i am :roll: )
