Hi
I have had trouble with my leeks.  They started well then the leaves seemed to die, now they've come back to life again but look a bit ropey with crispy dead leaves around the base.
Should I leave them to get bigger or harvest?  Well to be honest I have already harvested some (yummy chicken and leek soup) but they are not very big.
Any help gratefully received.

Is it just the outside leaf that is brown,what is the center bit doing as we need a little more info.

Yes it is the outside leaves that are brown, it was all of them to begin with and I thought they were a gonna but the middle leaves have grown up nice and green.  I probably won't get a picture on here to the weekend so please bear with me.
I ate some of them yesterday and the middles were fine just not very big.

If the middle`s growing well then they should grow bigger if you leave them,mine are only small at the moment as well.

leave them to grow on then harvest them later on in the winter when there is much less other veg around.
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.
