Spring Onions
« on: May 24, 2012, 18:42 »
I am not having much luck in getting Spring Onions with a bit of 'bite' ,is it something lacking in the soil or could someone recommend a Spring Onion that has a strong taste. Some fellow allotment holders do not seem to have a problem so it is either me or the soil ::)

my understanding of onions is plenty of water  good drainage also some well rotted manure should get you results as for strength i think that would be down to the variety!
