I am not having much luck in getting Spring Onions with a bit of 'bite' ,is it something lacking in the soil or could someone recommend a Spring Onion that has a strong taste. Some fellow allotment holders do not seem to have a problem so it is either me or the soil

my understanding of onions is plenty of water  good drainage also some well rotted manure should get you results as for strength i think that would be down to the variety!
