lliy leaf damage

there are  number of round but elongateedd holes in the leaves of our pot planted lilies 'these have appeared in the last couple of days only. Any suggestion of which pest may be causing these please.?

Could be Lily Beetle, they are the easiest foe to see as they are bright red.  Pick them off and squish them.   :)    Cheers,    Tony.

Yep. Lily beetle. Have already found several to squish.

Blasted snails and slugs have had a go at mine as well :mad: :mad: :mad:

Too slow with the slug pellets.

Check under the leaf as well, as there might be grubs there -- dark and covered with their own poo

And they are sneaky :mad:
 if disturbed they fall upside down and keep still on the ground and you have to hunt for them :mad:

Sneaky beggers :mad:

Vine weevil are even sneakier :ohmy: If they get disturbed you can see them play dead and you have to really squish them onto concrete 'cos they are tough little blighters and will get up and crawl off. :ohmy:

In fact there are so many things for us gardeners to fight off, and demoralise us, it makes you wonder why we carry on :lol:
