Can somebody clarify treatment please? I frontlined my 3 hens yesterday as a precaution but on closer inspection I think 1 bantam has it badly. It's difficult as she has partly feathered legs! Today she was in the cat cage while the others laid as she's broody yet again  (bless
When I let her out one foot had been bleeding. Is it ok to smother with pet jelly as well as using frontline! Am a bit confused after reading various posts

Hi yes it is fine to use petrolium jelly as it doesnt contain any medication, it just sufercates the little bliters

If she has feathered legs I wouldn't use vasaline as it will clog up the feathers. You can buy a spray for chooks, or as you already buy frontline for domestic pets you could buy the medicine to treat headlice. Personally I prefer to stick with chook stuff.
