do these need anything doing with?

first pic is basil 2 different varieties kept on kitchen window sill.
do they need to be seperated and pooted on?

next 3 are brocoli, cabbage, brussels - they seem slow to get any bigger, they are kept inside a light garage and are outside on dry days.

Basil --pinch ou the middles so they bush out and keep them warm still

Cabbages & broccoli can all stay outside as they are tough plants. When they are about four inches or so tall, plant them out in the ground, as deep as their first proper leaves. Make sure butterflies cannot lay eggs on them , slugs eat them or pigeons peck them (debris netting does it for me, coupled wih slug pellets). Firm the ground down well, and leave enough space for the sixe of the plant --- sprouts and sprouting broccoli will need staking later when they get bigger, and remember they will be there unitl next spring.

Celery looks like it could do with repotting on, again as deep as the first leaves as it looks a bit spindly. needs to stay inside frost free and bright, and likes to be damp. When it has about four decent leaves plant it out in a small block about ten inches between plants... slug pellets again -- if it suddenly has a growth spurt, wait until there are no more frosts forecast.

Peas -- harden these off and plant them out. Protect agains slugs and pigeons. GIve them something to cling onto as they grow. As they are tall peas, this might mean something six feet or more high. Check the packet

Hope that helps

great thank you.
should i seperate the basil or just leave it and pinch out, also are either of them ready to be pinched out now?

brasicas still have a bit of growing to do then, they seem very slow.

the celery is tiny was a bit worried but this is normal now i know.

ive made this for the peas, does it need some string across the horizontal also, max height for my varieties is 70-80cms jumbo peas.

thank you for your reply.

Peas have got loads of tendrils so they need lots of bits to cling onto - I just weave a few twigs in amongst the string, or use a bit of netting wire if there's a bit lying around. Not very tidy though.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

As soon as the true leaves are showing healthy, it's best to transplant.  Any damage to the roots while trying to tease them apart from their chums will slow them down.

Cheers,    Tony.

Growing basil in little clumps works really well, so I would leave them all together and pot them into a slightly larger pot in a week or two
