After the high winds recently I need to replace 2 pieces of greenhouse glass. My father reckoned they were a couple of quid each but upon ringing around I got quotes ranging from £6 to £15. So before I place an order, how much would you pay or have you paid in the past?

I was quoted £6:00 and I thought that was steep.    Maybe I should rethink if you have had costings up to £15:00.      Cheers,    Tony.

Last sheet I bought was £5 (collected) and I thought that was a bit steep, although it was last year.....................

You'll find the price varies depending on how windy it's been (the same applies to fence panels too).

see this is where my bad math skills come in as dont know how many mm is per foot - see thats the problem when your brought up using both metric and imperial (it gets confusing) - anyway i do know that the last piece of 2ft by 2ft was £5

Thanks for the replies. I managed to get a quote for £5.20 + VAT per glass pane of 610mm by 610mm from a local shop. I think im best of going with that. I did wonder whether perspex might be cheaper but then I dont know how long it would take to weather and lose its transparency.

Where are you?

I'm in Stockton (NE England) and have a load sat there just in case anyone needs some. My greenhouse blew away before I could install the glass

Thankyou for your kind offer unfortunately I am in Oxfordshire so a bit of a distance away. However, I did have a quick look on ebay for second hand glass and there was quite a bit but over 40miles away from me. Ive opted for getting polycarbonate sheets instead. They can be had in packs of 5 or 10 on ebay (roughly £20-40 delivered). For anyone else needing some then type in "polycarbonate 610" on ebay. 610mm is a standard off the shelf greenhouse glass size. I believe its UV treated too so shouldn't yellow or go brittle.

i paid close to £20 for 4 600mmx600mm 4mm glass. it's not greenhouse glass but as the thinner panes break i replace with 4mm.
