had a frost here the other night and there went the three runner bean plants! caught on the hop, and the potoato tops which were poking through the soil are a sorry looking sight! everything else looks ok.

I,ve some mixed plants in the small greenhouse-strawberries, cucumber, pumpkin, pepper, melon, and last night just to see what would happen, I left two big candles burning overnight in the greenhouse, and despite the cold night, when i opened the door this morning it was warm inside, i'm new to greenhouses and I'm impressed by the warmth inside even on cloudy days.

You could burn citronella candles and deter the aphids at the same time

I tried it as someone bought me a huge citronella candle in a galvo pot for when we were having a family meal outside.  They last for ages so down it went to the greenhouse

Brilliant idea I will try that. So far I have been using fleece over everything in the greenhouse
