We planted some shallots and spring onions in plugs trays a few weeks ago, and some leeks more recently.  They've all come up and look healthy enough but they're just drooping and lying horizontally instead of standing upright.   I thought they'd straighten up, but some of the shallots are over 1ft long now.

Husband helpfully suggested dissolving some viagra in the watering can - more useful suggestions would be appreciated!

They should never be over a foot long in that space of time.

You don't by any chance have them in the house, or somewhere else heated where it will be too warm for them, do you?

Another problem would be lack of light if they are not in a well lit space.

They're in a slightly heated conservatory.  Should I put them outside, and if I do, must I protect them from any frost?

They normally don't need protecting from frost, but yours may do now they've become accustomed to warmth.

Put them outside during the day then bring them in at night for a week or so. Hopefully by then you should be able to leave them out full time.
