You can compost any rhubarb leaves as you wouldn't want to eat them anyway.

I think you're asking about what compost to use to plant the rhubarb in?

If it is going to be in a pot permanently, make sure it's a very big pot and use John Innes Number 3.  Don't use multi-purpose or mushroom compost as they will run out of nutrients in a few weeks, which is no good if the plant will be in the pot forever.

If it's just for a temporary solution, you could use compost but I'm not sure about mushroom compost.  It's quite alkaline and I'm not sure whether rhubarb likes that.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Reading the question again, I think misunderstood the question. Apologies! Rhubarb is best planted initally with a good amount of organic matter in the hole. Mushroom compost is a good organic matter. :)

Yes, dig your hole and add plenty of your organic matter, in your case mushroom compost. :)
