swedish sofas and carnivorous plants
« on: May 28, 2012, 12:08 »
Hi - not sure this counts as 'frugal' but ik*a has Venus fly trap, sarracenias and Sundews (Drosera capenis I think) for £4.50 each - lovely healthy specimens. I got the Drosera for my greenhouses - there are 3 decent plants in the pot. Goven that most mail order places are charging £5-6 I'm pleased with my purchase...

hopefully the fungus gnats won't be  :)

I don't suppose you have got the item numbers for those?
I can't find them on the website, and my 6 year old Daughter really wants some since she did it at school.
They charge £7.50 for p&p but it would cost £4 just to go through the Dartford tunnel and back!

mine is labelled 'No. 22 Drosera' and has the number 202.000.22 in the usual black box, followed by '21702' but don't know if that means anything useful.

I might be back there in next couple of weeks so could look at the sarrecenia and Flytraps...

I looked for it but I don't think it is on the website yet, but I really appreciate you looking for me.

if you posted a request in swaps forum or even Chatting On The Plot, maybe someone local is going to ikea soon?

They're very well packed by the way - robust clear plastic box. Saraccenias might suffer in post though as more wobbly.
