I am sure I am not the only one whose chook run currently resembles a mud swamp.  Any chook friendly ideas of what I can put in run to make it more pleasant for them and me!  Or is it best just to leave be & make sure I wear my wellies.

Bark might help, and will break down so no need to do anything with it when it dries up again. Our's love scratching around in it.

You could try roofing it depending on wind location. I also have poly sheeting around the sides to help keep out the weather. 1 of mine have feathered feet so it makes it easier for her.

I have put down a line of pallets in my garden or should I say the girls garden, so I can get to their feed stations and water with out sinking in the mire out there. Also means I can get to the washing line with out getting cover.

If you only have a small gardenby be saw th pallets in half

A tarpaulin as a temporary roof, hard wood chips and Stalosan F work well for my set up.
