Which seedlings can be buried?
« on: April 18, 2012, 14:19 »
After my success at pricking on my chillies and burying them  I was wondering what other seedlings you can do this with?

DD and Sunshine Band can you help?

  would it work with those gangly courgettes that I germinated too soon..AGAIN?

I'm not one of the people you asked, but never mind  ::)

Any of the cucurbits ( courgettes cucumbers squash) resent having wet stems and can rot at that point...so it's best to plant them on mounds rather than bury the stems.

I have many secretaries that I can rely on.  :nowink:
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks MofS. Sorry I didnt mean not to ask you

What a shame; my chillies looked so much better after they had been buried that my adolescent courgettes looked on in envy and I felt obliged to inquire on their behalf

Please can someone remind me to wait a little longer next year. A little bit of early spring sunshine has a habit of banishing all gardening sense

Maybe now I have got my PVC covers for my beds I will be distracted by all those winter veg that I have grown  :D

Secretaries eh, DD?

I must ask about those

I guess you have your answer there, GRubby paws, but if is any consolation, it would not be too late to sow more, that could grow with shorter 'legs'
