We've just taken over a rather overgrown allotment, but we've got one bed almost ready to take some spuds, which means it will need manuring.  However I also want to treat it with Nemaslug, which is already in my fridge with the clock ticking towards its use by date.  Does it make any difference whether I Nemaslug before manuring or should I do it the other way around?  Also is it OK to fork over after treating and before planting?

The main factors in ensuring Nemaslug works effectively are soil temperature and moisture levels.  They need a minimum soil temperature of 5 degrees C and they 'swim' through soil, so can't move around well if the soil is dry.

I can't see manuring the soil beforehand will affect them or forking over afterwards.  They are microscopic and hopefully will have safely burrowed into slugs and be killing them by the time you come to fork over and plant the spuds
