using a decoy bird
« on: April 14, 2012, 12:40 »
I am trying to keep my hens off a flower bed and wondered if anyone had tried a decoy hawk. My temporary barriers look unsightly and the hens soon find a way through.

A decoy hawk will attract a lot of crows as they attack them so if you are growing veg and stuff close by it might not be such a good idea

My hens are not that concerned about a real sparrow hawk that occasionally sits on the fence 20ft away.
The hens will suss a phony out in 5 minutes. :)
