Last years plum harvest was nothing to write home about. 

The main problem was plum moth wigglers.   This year I have sprayed the tree twice pre bud burst with Westland Plant Rescue Fungus Control, shortly I'll head off to the Garden Centre for a pheromone trap for those pesky plum moths.

Anyone got any other ideas on how to protect the plums for ourselves?   The buds are opening and the tree looks 'spectaklier'  The memsahib thought the plum jam and plum wine were very good and wants more !      Cheers,      Tony.

You can rake the soil around the tree to dislodge the larvae and hopefully the birds will find them.  Think I sprayed my plum tree after the petals fell to kill the ones that made it up the tree before the plums developed and they burrowed in.

I don't really want to rake the soil as there are some foxgloves and other 'bee/friendly plants there, (there is also a much loved moggy down there in his favourite resting place)!

What product did you spray your tree with after the petal fall?
