I never have on any of them but have had a few peas eaten by mice. I now dust the row with a little curry or chilli powder to mask the smell of the peas germinating. Seems to do the trick.

It's the peas that are at most risk (from mice). Mine get tightly netted with debris netting or meshed with narrow gauge wire.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Sunday - planted radish
Monday - bed ransacked by fox, planted more.
Tuesday - dug up again, planted more, noticed onion beds next to it are fine.  Crushed up an onion on to radish bed.
Wednesday - bed not touched.

Early days but I'm hoping the fox hates the smell of onion.  If not I'll cover next time.  I don't even like radish but promised someone I'd grow them.

Should be OK.

It's going cooler, but not cold!
