Thankyou my good man. Be prepared for more silly questions, I'm that sort of dude. Further to original question, would direct sunlight harm anything if the temperature was cool enough. Would it encorage faster chitting or slow it down. I realise that dark causes the shoots to grow long and white whilst searching for the light, but would a lot of light have the opposite effect?

Whilst the ambient temperature might be cool, the spuds will absorb the sunlight and turn the light into heat. Best to keep them out of it.
