You'll be fine.  It's large lumps of organic matter that carrots and parsnips are traditionally less keen on.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Carrots (and parsnips) tend to fork either when they hit an obstruction in the soil (usually stones) or if the soil is not an even mixture of nutrients or moisture-retaining material (eg lumps of manure which are not properly incorporated.)

The roots will branch off towards the food/water with the sometimes humorous, but usually tricky-to-peel results.  ::)

BFB would be fine if forked in evenly, but be prepared to net if you have foxes in the area (but you may well be doing that anyway using Enviromesh or similar to protect against carrot fly.)

As ever, it partly depends on the natural fertility of your soil - my soil is sandy and crops are poor without added nutrients. I use dried chicken poo forked into the ground a few weeks before sowing and don't have many problems.

BFB would also be fine for onions, but again comes with the potential fox alert.  :)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
