I'm sorry I've not been about for a few days, just been so busy with work whilst the weather is suitable.
I've just had a quick browse though and was reminded of hedgehogs.
Last year I ended up with three juvenille hedgies from a late litter. There were a lot of late litters due to the weather but a lot wouldnt have made it through the winter without human help.
So,
Here is the website I found which gave me all the help and advice I needed. I hope it comes in useful to those of you who find these adorable visitors.

I recently was about to 'fork and turn' my compost heap, when I found that a hedghog had decided to hibernate in there  :?

Needless to say, the compost  will have to wait  :)

I urge everyone to be aware that hedghogs may be in their compost heaps and act accordingly   :D

Also to check any bonfires before lighting them
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

A huge hedgehog scared the life out of my cats on saturday night! He can snuffling his (or maybe her) way across the decking by the back door. Neither of the cats knew what to make of him and just stood there staring at him.

I never realised how noisy they were, he sounded like a piglet, grunting and snuffling to himself as he shuffled off round the back of the shed to find the wood pile.

Needless to say my daughters were very impressed by him

Our dog ( small Shetland Sheepdog) froze when he saw a hedgehog in the path on the way to the park.

He had to be lifted over it as he refused to walk past

We had a resident in the garden last year, was very pleased with the cats food, hard biscuits,  if I remember rightly.
Kept comming back every night.

Not seen him/her for ages, but have seen very few slugs in the garden. :D
Now your grips too strong
You can't catch love with a net or a gun
Gotta keep faith that your path will change
Gotta keep faith that your luck will change tomorrow
