 I was not sure about gardening as a hobby but always loved the thought of growing my own veg. Last year I dug out tons of weed and threw them in a corner. I also threw in lots of non bio-degradable waste there too. This year I was gutted to see a huge mountain of soil and rubbish reduced into a mound with grass on top.
Today I decided to tackle it thinking it was only fit for the skip. My enviromental officer at the council told me that there would be good in there. I did not apprecaite it as I thought she had no idea what I had put in there. I thought I had lots of handball lined up.
Well what a suprise when I scratched the surface I had compost! So all I ended with was 4 bags of rubbish for the skip, glass plastics etc.
I dont know if I did right but I had a sunk bed that I wont use this year so I topped it up with soil from the heap. I will mix with manure this week and cover and use this bit next year. Nature works in great ways and to top my day an allotment keeper near mine gave me 4 giant parsnips.

  what you have done is created loam which is great for the soil

Yay thanks, I was worried about weed seeds but if I dont use it this year I hope it will be fine
