when to expect them to lay
« on: October 20, 2007, 09:11 »
i have a 22 week old barnevelder, i'm pretty sure she's a hen and a buff orpington that's probably a few weeks older, neither have laid an egg yet i was wondering what age i could expect them to start laying or will they probably not lay now that the days are drawing in and put it off until the spring. my bantum white sussex is still laying about 6 a week. but i need all 6 to make one omlet so i'm not really self sufficient in eggs yet.
thanks

We've had our POL's since 20 August when they were supposed to be 19 weeks old, and so far from 12 we are getting 4-7 eggs a day, but the first one only started to lay about 4 weeks ago.
