Garden spring clean easier this year
« on: February 25, 2012, 18:15 »
Ok, so my grass was covered in muck, leaves and stones (where do they find them all), nothing a new stiff broom hasn't dealt with, but the girls have worked wonders on my borders. This was the first year we had them over winter and there were no weeds to deal with, the compost that I put down in the autumn has been spread to perfection and other than collecting leaves and again many more stones it hasn't been back breaking at all this year, so all in all very pleased with our first winter. Time will tell whether the grass where it meets the soil will recover or not, it's a bit sparse in areas due to scratching but fingers crossed it could pick up.
