New Allotments
« on: February 11, 2012, 16:21 »
Hi, I am new to this forum .We ,my wife and I have been growing vegetables in our small back garden for some years. Our local Parish Council put an advert into our local Parish Newsletter for people interested in aquiring an allotment. There have been about 12 persons interested but the Parish does not own any land. They have written to local landowners in order to lease or purchase farm land adjacent to the village to convert to allotments. We await with abated breath. My interest is while we wait, is there any stipulation on what they should supply in terms of size ,paths access water etc or could we be faced with just a empty field?

No stipulations whatsoever I'm afraid.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hi
We here in Markfield are having 20 half allotments added to the 34 mixed (half size and full size ) allotments already here .  So the 24 people on the waiting list will be happy .All these are on one site .

Hello Bazial ,sounds as if the Council responsible for your allotments are progressive in supplying more.I live in Saxilby just outside Lincoln and there are no provisions at all at the moment.
