Broad bean question
« on: October 20, 2007, 22:02 »
A couple of my newly planted (about 2" high) broad bean tips have been broken off, I suspect by the mad, yet cute, spaniel next door are dog sitting (there is no fence between us and next door)

What do I do:-

a) Sit tight, they may still grow
b) Pop some spare seed in where the broken plants are
c) Shoot the dog?

I cover mine with a chicken wire cloche to keep the birds and spaniels off

I would go for options B & C
You are sure pigions have not nipped them off :?:
Even so still B & C
always have a target
and an objective.

I will go for B.

BBF - haven't seen many pigeons round here recently, some of the plants were broken off and just hanging on by a bit of outer stem rather than being pecked off cleanly, so it was definitely more like having been trampled by a mad 90mph dog.
