just read this on an internet sit saying that salt is supposed to be included in their diet?

"Salt (best given separately, free choice; kelp is the very supreme choice for this, if you can get it --- it supplies all the minerals in the world --- see below) "
http://www.lionsgrip.com/intro.html
-If life gives you lemons find someone who got vodka and have a party
-If it doesn't fit;force it. If it breaks; you needed a new one anyway
-Borrow money from pessimist; they don't expect it back

some very interesting stuff , i wouldnt suggest anybody just goes and starts chucking seaweed into the chickens tho .looks like its a built up thing in the birds and  i feed my birds white fish but not oily so they probably do get some salt intake , but id leave that idea for others to use personally  but as i said it does have some good information and ideas , which for beginners i find totally unusual   :)
still alive /............

Very interesting article, but it also says:

"And mold or salt in table scraps and old grains can quickly kill a chicken."   :?

Anyone who feeds their chooks on layers pellets will automatically be giving them enough salt, no more would be needed !

fascinating article in there about growing worms, I was doing fine up until it talked about drying the worms before grinding them up by putting them in an oven YEULCCCHHHHHHH !!!!

I will stick to my makeshift wormery and just fish out the woppers for the girls a treat now and then I think.

I still find it amazing that chickens can produce that huge lump of energy every day in the form of an egg and stay healthy. Incredible!
ok so I know its a daft question but Im cute ......

i must agree that was an intersesting article in there about worms. i do something along the lines, though not as organized. i put old hay, raked up poo, leaves, and the like in any old flower pot just laying around. every time i find a worm put it in there. i do it more or less for speeding up compost than for the worms.
