I think I'll start saving seeds next year, I spent around £20 on them last year.

I'm quite surprised that you've only spent 50 quid - 10 metres of netting costs £8, fleece not much less.  At least £20 on bags of compost, then all the supports, ties, balls of string.  Then on top of that tools, including the fiddly things like secateurs, hammers screwdrivers, pegs/stakes.  The list can go further.

And don't forget feed and weedkiller - prob. around £15 spent at least.

Either everyone's being extremely frugal or I've been a bit generous with my cash.

I bought 5 bags (must be 40 litre) for £10.  That was just enough to get things planted.  But then it'll be £40 for manure this year and I didn't get any last year.

We're not allowed to sell produce outside so there's no income other than what I save at home.  Although that is a fair amount no denying.

He tells me they can't touch the big tax evaders cos they just use loopholes in the law.  So it's us that have to suffer.  Oops pickup time...

But to me, £30 on seeds in a year is around 2 weeks of supermarket veg...

Actually, of course taking into account my saving on gym fees I'm making a killing already.
