I have a Marans in a pear tree at the moment.

After a couple of marten attacks over the past week, my Marans hen has decided it is obviously safer to sleep in my pear tree (after I spent soooo long last winter making my apple tree uninhabitable)

Unfortuantely (for me!) she is roosting a good 15 feet in the air, and as this tree is along my boundry, if I poke her out of it there is a good chance she would land in the stream on the other side of the fence, so up in the tree she stays for the moment

Did you manage to get her down Casey?  I assume martens climb    Is she on a thin enough branch to be safe

Maybe she's just practising for Christmas, and thought you'd like a change from a partridge in a peartree
