Just about to go off line to clean and dry the peanuts harvested yesterday.
We plant them in May here . Anyone grow in the uk and with what luck.
Home grown freshly dried are rather better than most packaged peanuts ...which can be nearing their recommended 'eat by' date.

Just noticed some in a seed cat and was thinking maybe I might try them in the little ones plot!

I dug some up in a friend's garden in Mexico & they are very tasty fresh (don't eat many fresh though - big digestive problems!!).

Home roasted in the shell are fantastic - like any GYO, shop-bought doesn't come close.

Never grown them but I reckon they'd need a greenhouse in the UK.

My father occasionally grew some in his greenhouse, but only as a bit of fun for us when we were small, as the the yield was so small for the space taken up.

iF YOU PLANT SAY EIGHT NUTS IN A 50 CM DIAMETER CONTAINER YOU MAY BE SURPRISED BY HOW MANY YOU HARVEST. ...and a green hoise would be of help in a typical uk summer.
