Using a dehydrator to make candied fruit
« on: October 14, 2011, 08:37 »
I was lucky enough to pick up an expensive dehydrator for not much on fleabay a couple of years ago and now dry quite a bit of fruit and veg.  Dried raspberries are the best sweeties ever  :D

Last year I made candied orange peels with one end dipped in dark chocolate as seasonal gifts (see Ice I am being good  ;) ) which went down a storm, but my mum loves candied whole fruits and chestnuts.  Has anyone got experience of making these and are they easy in a dehydrator ???  I can find recipes but wondered if anyone has had a go and whether the results were good  :)

Wish I could help but I've not tried it for chestnuts or whole fruit.
