my first year

got my half plot in early Feb and planted all these,


1. two types of Jerusalem artichoke (flowering now)
2. Soya Bean (produced very few beans each plant)
3. Mange Bean (none survived)
4. Sunflower(had a massive plant which was seeded by bird)
5. Sweet Corn (4 plants all produced)
6. Kale (still picking leavies)
7. Burdock (sowed many, none came out)
8. Kohlrabi (used 4 purple ones and 4 on their way)
9. Iceberg lettuce (had several nice ones)
10. beetroot (some of them are bigger than swede now)
11. kabocha squash (produce 8-10)
12. Spaghetti Squash (approx 10 in the bucket)
13. persian melon (5 melons all the size of a big orange, but very sweet)
14. Sweet potato (errr..very slim in size, like fingers ::)
15. French climbing bean (enjoyed so many of them)
16. dwarf bean (not as productive as the climbing ones, but ok)
17. celery (planted small as toothpicks, produced 10 big sized)
18. Courgettes (produced too many and killed off by mildew, but one survived...)
19. marrow (same as above)
20. runner bean (great plant keep on producing until now maybe more on the way)
21. carrots (two small ugly ones only, autum king is growing now...)
22. tomato (moneymaker, Plum type & mini tomatos, all had a big crop, very nice :D)
23. onion (30 in different sizes)
24. potato (three types, 15 plants, all produced nice midium sized spuds!)
25. strawberry (three types, not many fruits but I have 10 times more plants now)
26. chards (four colours, they went over-sized and enjoyed using them)
27. cucumber (two type, produced about 30 cucumbers)
28. spinach (5 types all produced nice leavies)
29. pak choi (tiny thing and many went into flowering straight)
30. brown lettuce (used a lot earlier this year)
31. small lettuce (name unknown given by neighbour, produced very well)
32. grape vine (green grapes, survived and it's 1 metre tall now)
33. cabbages (10 round ones)
34. garlic (first crop 50 garlics, planted for early next year)
35. broad bean (1st thing I planted in Feb, great crop in early days)
36. spring onion (planted too many produced too many..)
37. radish (small red, easy to grow but lots of bites on skin)
38. leek (grew well but hit by worm, all been pulled out now)
39. raspberry (not many fruits in first year)
40. blueberry (same)
41. goji berry (not produced a thing but did flower)
42. French marigold flower (companion planting with Tomatos, yellow and red)
43. peanuts (still alive, but doesn't seem to have any rooting downs)
44. thorn-less blackberry(reverted to a plant with thorns >:()
45. cauliflower (had several small caulis but used them early fearing worm attack)
46. broccoli (close to none success)
47. Chinese leaf (most eaten by worms)
48. white radish (planted in Aug and looks great now)
49. okra (none survived)
50. Cress (kid got them from school, never used but grew well)
51. Shark Fin Squash (still producing squashes, unbelieveable plant)
52. rhubarb( 3 crops this year, would you believe it?!)
53. geranium Flower (companion planting with cabbages cauliflower etc)
54. apple tree (from seeds but pulled as damaged)
55. pear tree (from seeds but pulled as damaged)
56. peach tree ((from seeds, one growing strong)
57. coleus (tropical plants with nice green/pink leavies, but looked really sorry)

with Feb's weeding, April's drought and the long cool summer, my plants did very well indeed!
