Being short on space and surrounded by chavvy kids who can't kick a football straight I've had my eye on these cheap PVC greenhouses for getting stuff off started off in 

I've already got one of the mini 4 tier ones (they're 6.99 in their now) and this one was reduced from 19.99 to 12.99. It's got 2 shelves on either side and is big enough to stand inside and be able to do stuff in. There's plenty of height between the shelves as well.

Dimensions are 140 x 72 x 195 cm or for those of us working in proper numbers it's 4 ft 7 wide, 6 ft 5 tall, 2 ft 4 deep 

They've also got the tomato ones with no shelves in for a bout 8 quid.

I'm glad I worked out the dimensions in feet and inches 'coz if I'd built it in the kitchen I would never have got it out the door!

Sounds like one I saw 2 years ago in our shops, but it was a soft covered one, and was on sale for $100, about 80 pounds or so. Sure wish we could find affordable ones around here.

I paid more than you did for an 8 ft long, 2 ft high expanding hoop cloche.

I've been thinking about one to stand out the back of my 8 x 6 greenhouse. I reckon I could just get two cuc's in a growbag in there.

I have bought several of these over the years, finally getting the double-sided one you mention above last summer....

But.... I wonder if it's a false economy... so much so that I have bought a sturdier wooden-framed version thie year.

The probalem has always been that very windy weather tends to rip them apart! Last year's two-sided one was well pegged down and tied to a fence, but we had some strong gales, and only the bars tied in place remained where they were supposed to be. The rest got scattered across the garden, and the plastic cover got torn to shreds!! The previous smaller one I had actually lasted two summers before falling foul of a stormy night....

And of course, not only do you lose your greenhouse, but also a lot of what is planted in there

Mine has stood up to some horrendous winds over the last few days but it's sheltered in a back yard. They've been ideal for me as a total beginner, I've got the mini 4 tier and the two sided walk in version, as it's let me get started and grow a few things, get hooked and see that I don't need loads of space.

Now I've got the bug and have had a look round at 'proper' greenhouses I've got my eye on a few models that are not that big or expensive but they have been great introduction
