double dig and rotavate annie,or like munty says grow on ridges.

can I double dig using a rotovator? as I really never have time to double dig the plot.. At the mo I am covering 80% of the plot in manure then going to rotovator it in 2 or 3 times at different depths.. ok or not?

go for it raise the tiller bar right up .chew the soil deep ,then manure n then redig deep then go shallower to bury the rest

" werks for me "

Thanks honey.. xxx

Don't know when the rain started but I've had some parsnips just like yours Annie.
Right next to long tapered beauties (parsnips I mean).
Don't they smell lovely? Taste nice too.
I think it's down to stones myself.
Obviously read too many 'grow veg books'.
As a novice I don't really know.
Only sure thing is I'll be growing them again next year.
mmmmmm

Good theory WG., but what about like mine, all planted same time, all watered the same, no stones, no fresh manure, but some are long and straight and some are forked and all in the same row.  And I thinned them, unlike the carrots!!!!!

Same here. Some forked and some dead straight.

xx
Is this what they mean by forked
