Some people bury there composting material on our site whilst others like me add it to the compost heap to add to the soil later.
Is there any significant difference in these two methods?

If you are digging a piece of ground over that has weeds or some crop remains then it is often convenient to dig it in as you go. This also applies to green manure specially grown for this purpose.

Compost from a heap can be placed exactly where you want it to benefit the next crop.

A compost heap should get hot and kill weed seeds and disease.

If you already know where your beans are going, you can dig into a trench all the hard stems and stuff that won't compost easily at this time of year.
Saves you finding it still in a lump in the compost when you spread it :)
