...............is a White Star hen meant to be. I bought her along with two Polish bantams when I was told that she wouldn't be much taller than they were and that she would be a medium sized hen. Now I know I'm ignorant about different breeds, think the breeder saw me coming  but my lady is all neck and legs, she's 23 weeks now so I'm presuming she's fully grown, well I'm hoping so.

A White Star will be quite a lot bigger than a Polish Bantam.

This is her although it will be hard to gauge how big she is as there's nothing beside her. She's looking very grumpy here.

My neighbour has several White Stars and they are a little taller than my Light Sussex, so nowhere near the size of a Polish Bantam. They would be classed as a medium hen, so in all fairness if your breeder told you that he/she has not really pulling the wool over your eyes.

Oh no I didn't mean he did that, only that I didn't expect her to be so much taller than she is against the bantams. The WS he showed me was small compared to her, one thing though, she is very regal looking until she runs, then her legs are everywhere.

Gosh isnt she clean! Does she always stay that white? She's really lovely. I have to say that I have a soft spot for white hens, that's why I like the Light Sussex.

Well so far she has stayed clean,  maybe because they're in a run and not free ranging, I have to laugh, when I look at her after she's had a dust bath, seems a bit back to front really.
