Glad things seem to be working out now, no need for grit yet they will be fine with chick crumb and scratching around on the ground. They mak even eat minute stones that they scratch up which will do the same job as any grit you may buy  .

thanks again ladies  she stayed out all day with her chicks although she stayed fluffed up and close to the ground all day even when the chicks were off scratching about, this is normal for a broody mama I guess. She went to bed at 7pm on the dot and the little cute fluffies followed. My camera is broken so will try and upload from my phone. I'm rubbish with technology so we'll see what happens!
